Van Nuys FBO
Van Nuys FBO
Van Nuys Airport serves as the main FBO for private pilots in the area. FBO stands for “fixed base of operation,” meaning it provides fueling, storing and general services for airplanes. At Van Nuys FBO, you’ll find fueling stations as well as aircraft parking, washrooms and general maintenance services.
Our Planes at Van Nuys FBO
At Eight Ball Flying Club, we operate our four aircraft out of the Van Nuys FBO, also known as Van Nuys Airport. Our airplanes—a 1978 Cessna 172, a 2000 Cessna 182, a 2002 Cessna 172SP and a six-seat 1982 Piper Saratoga—are all tied down next to each other north of the control tower on the west side of the field. Our monthly membership dues partially go toward the cost of parking our planes at the Van Nuys FBO.
The rest of the monthly dues, as well as initial buy-in fees, go toward the costs of insuring and maintaining the airplanes. We practice sound financial operations and we are a non-profit group, meaning every bit of the club’s money goes into the airplanes. Currently, the club’s assets are in excess of $100,000. We attribute the club’s long history to our solid financial practices.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Eight Ball Flying Club, you can attend one of our monthly meetings to learn more about us. We hold meetings on the second Tuesday of every month. Simply fill in our Contact Us form and we’ll get you more information on our next meeting.
